Allows for continuous visual monitoring, reduces unnecessary dressing changes and leaves the site protected and undisturbed
BeneHold™ CHG adhesive technology from Avery Dennison Medical integrates the antimicrobial efficacy of CHG directly into a thin adhesive layer, permitting primary skin contact and protection of the site while eliminating the need for bulky components to house the antimicrobial. A transparent carrier film keeps the CHG adhesive in contact with the skin, making it easier for clinicians to observe the site without disturbing it and more comfortable for patients compared to competitive antimicrobial dressings. Other CHG wound dressings embed their CHG in opaque gel pads or foam disks that can be cumbersome, limit visibility of the wound site and restrict the size of the area protected.
This patented CHG adhesive platform can be customized to meet the needs of a wide range of applications and performance requirements, providing a unique opportunity to enhance any portfolio of infection control products. Customizable solutions include the option to tailor onset and duration of antimicrobial activity, adhesive thickness, adhesion level and fluid management.
By incorporating CHG directly into a proprietary acrylic-based adhesive, BeneHold™ CHG adhesive technology may allow for sustained antimicrobial activity across a larger protective surface area, with a thinner more conformable dressing. The technology also allows for the potential to reduce skin toxicity that may result from localized CHG concentrations in the gel pad or foam disk of competing technologies.
BeneHold™ CHG adhesive technology also offers these clinically meaningful advantages over competitive antimicrobial contact dressings.

Allows for continuous visual monitoring, reduces unnecessary dressing changes and leaves the site protected and undisturbed
Absorption and Breathability
Manages fluids such as blood, perspiration and exudates by wicking moisture away from the site; a breathable film carrier permits additional vapor exchange
Waterproof
The film acts as a water-resistant, bacterial and viral barrier impenetrable to external contaminants; maintains the site as a clean, healing environment
Consistent and Sustained Antimicrobial Action
By homogeneously incorporating CHG into the adhesive, BeneHold™ CHG adhesive technology facilitates sustained inhibition of microbial growth within the dressing and prevents external contamination across the entire skin site
BeneHold CHG antimicrobial adhesive technology can be customized to meet the needs of a wide range of applications and performance requirements.
